Film Poster Analysis

Blade runner From the poster of blade runner, I could assume that the film will follow the man at the top of the poster. Also, the setting in the poster could be where the film is actually being set as the skyscrapers are quite prominent in the poster, made clear through the added lighting around the vast buildings, suggesting that they are the setting in the film. From the style of the illustration, this film could be a Hollywood production as the design of it seems similar to that of a star wars movie poster, which was another high budget Hollywood film. Furthermore, the man at the top of the poster, who seems to be the protagonist, is holding a gun, possibly meaning that they are some sort of authority figure as most of the time it would seem that the stereotype for a detective, which is what I would think  the protagonist is acting as, is mainly the badge, the gun and the trench coat, which is what the protagonist also seems to be wearing, Also, it is made clear that this film is

Video Feedback And Learner Response

Image
Teacher Feedback - Great Choice of music - but I agree with your own reflection that you have ended up with two parallel montages rather than anything contrapuntal. Good Selection of clips for both parallel montages - clear effect on the audience which is great. Be careful with shots of a character speaking with different media - unless this is deliberate. What clips could have been genuinely contrapuntal to this music? Student Feedback - WWW: The Contrapuntal sound is immediately recognisable.              Parallel also immediately recognisable I think you did it perfectly. EBI: No EBI except for your abrupt ending WWW: There was a clear difference between contrapuntal and parallel. EBI: The contrapuntal part seemed quite parallel so more could have been another choice of music. WWW: Range of videos for the parallel part. EBI: I was a bit confused at first because it wasn't that clear if it was contrapuntal or parallel because the music used matched some bits

Media Awards Review

Click In my opinion, "Click" was the overall best film at the media awards and was the film which could be adapted into a feature film and outperform it's competitors in the box office. I really enjoyed "Click" due to the different camera shots, leading to different effects, as well as the editing. A clear example of this is when the protagonist finds out about his powers and he pauses time for the first time and looks at the cup of coffee. This shot clearly displayed his frustration and amazement at what he can do. An example of the editing is literally a couple seconds after this when the camera cuts from him on the ground, looking at the cup, to kicking it out of anger, reinforcing his frustration and aggravation. Also, the way it was shot is purely breathtaking as the actors within the short film had to remain so still that you didn't realise that they were actually breathing and that this effect wasn't achieved in post production. Voice of Th

Lighting Still Image Analysis

Image
Within this picture, you can see a clear use of backlighting and filler lighting to create a low key lighting effect as all the left is coming from the left side to shine on the right side of her face. the use of showing only half her face creates a mysterious effect. The use of the light coming from the back makes the cigarette smoke around her look very strong and therefore entices the audience as to why she is by herself in a relatively dark room smoking a cigarette. Once again this still image has used low key lighting as the only clear light we can see being used is a top lighting this creates another ominous and mysterious effect. The use of top lighting means the only areas we can see the lady is her face. The use of only showing her face makes us the viewer question as to why the director has created the effect of us only being able to look at her face and no other parts of the body. The lighting in this shot is high key lighting as his body fro
