Statement Of Intent

Statement Of Intent Most coming of age dramas focus on a problem or focus on the main character reaching adulthood and facing typical student difficulties such as school problems because of this, the audience for coming of age dramas tend to be younger demographic as they're probably going through this stage or have passed this stage. Coming of age dramas also have a problem that is central to the main character and causes him difficulty throughout the film, however, I plan to introduce more problems than one in the trailer to create a larger narrative and create a more interesting narrative for the audience. For example, one difficulty would be trying to fit into a new environment another one being potential school problems, such as failing in school. Also, the soundtrack or background music would be a variation of music typically within coming of age drama there tends to be a variety of music used for coming of age dramas when compared to other genres such as action, horror and t...

Film Poster Research

Image
Film poster conventions Do some generic research on film posters. 1) List the key conventions of a film poster. Title Tag-Line Release Date Film Reviews Media Institution Production Credits Age Rating Colour Main Image Iconic Aspect of Film 2) What makes a film poster instantly recognisable? The use of the main image makes a film poster intrigue the viewer to wanting to view the poster and therefore entice the reader enough to watch the trailer to see what it is all about. 3) What are regarded as some of the best film posters of all time? Why? 4) Look back at your statement of intent. What are you planning to produce in terms of your film posters? Can you take inspiration from your research above? I would like to produce a film poster that meets the brief as well as meets my personal desires such as incorporating the use of ethnic backgrounds within the poster as well personally would like to use a range of shots to be used to show the issues he faces in...

Mis-en-scene

Clamps Costume: My main characters will be wearing jeans and probably hoodies to match the urban lifestyle of their age and location. I am considering if the character who will be the bully to wear a tracksuit just so it can show his movement and the connotations of this are often people who are not bothered by their appearances and don't care about lifestyle much. Lighting: Due to the realistic feel I want for my movie I will use natural lighting, this will also make it seem like more of a coming of age film. I will also try to have as much natural lighting on the shots that focus on the characters faces. Actors: I have one teenager who will be the star of the movie that will be dressed like a typical teenager and preferably of a BAME background as this will emphasise what I aspired to do in my statement of intent  Make-up: No makeup would be required for my trailer as I wish for it to have a realistic feel so it would make the movie seem fictionalised. Ignite Presentation

WWW: I like your idea for the dynamic with the characters. EBI: Timings of presentation but great presentation none the less. WWW: Good concept sounds interesting. EBI: Try to apply more media theories throughout. WWW: Alot if information in a short amount of time. EBI: Practise timings better for changes don't make narrative that obvious. I believe that the concept of my movie and the realistic narrative was a a point that people really liked just the execution must be good to have a clear narrative in a two minute trailer, I do believe that by saying too much for some slides I ended up speaking to fast and saying future points that made one of my slides completely irrelevant therefore giving everyone the impression of not revising.

The Decline In Print Media

Blog task 1: The impact of Google Answer the following questions: 1) Why has Google led to the decline of the newspaper industry? Because it is now more convenient to access soft and hard news through the use of google,  they attracted a lot of customers that wanted to advertise on their search engine which led to media businesses siphoning billions in advertising revenue over the past decade or so. 2) Find a statistic from the article that illustrates the decline of traditional news media. Newspaper businesses had a decline of $40 billion, or about 60 percent of the ad revenue in 2000 3) Looking at the graph featured in the article, what period has seen the steepest decline in newspaper advertising revenue?  2005 - 20012 as this is was close to when the internet was introduced. 4) Do you personally think Google is to blame for newspapers closing and journalists losing their jobs? Why? Personally, I don't think they are to blame to a certain ex...
